Summer School in Norwich: English, Excursions, and International Friendships

The main summer programme for elementary and high school students is called Summer Study Holidays. This is scheduled from mid-June to mid-August each year. Students can join Summer School either individually or as part of a team, and all English levels are welcome to participate in the summer programme (A1-C2).

What the summer courses include:

• 15 hours of English: Each participant attends approximately 15 hours of English classes each week. The focus of the English classes is on developing the four skills (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) and will be conducted in a very supportive and enjoyable manner. 
• Multi-Cultural Classes: Students are grouped according to their English level, so they will be studying with students of various ethnic backgrounds with similar levels of English.
• Dynamic Teaching Style: Classes are mostly conducted using current media, group work, surveys and a variety of other dynamic activities designed to develop real-life communication skills.
• Course Reports: At the end of their programme, each student receives a course report detailing their level of progress.

Activities and Excursions

• Weekly activities programme: Students take part in a minimum of four organised activities each week. Examples can include city tours, sports, creative workshops and cultural visits.
• Excursions: Every week includes one half-day and one full-day outing, visiting interesting places such as historic towns and famous cities nearby. These trips help students practise English in real life while enjoying British culture.
• Free day: Students also have a free day with their host family on Sunday, giving them a chance to relax or explore independently.

Accommodation and Support

• Homestay accommodation: Learners live with carefully selected local host families during the summer course. Homestays include full board (three meals a day) and provide a friendly environment where students can practise English in everyday life.
• Safety and welfare: The school provides 24-hour welfare support, and individual students may be assigned an activity leader to help them settle in and join the programme.
• Airport transfers: Optional airport transfers are available for students arriving from abroad (at additional cost).
